Beautiful location, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Excellant food. A real treat all round. Will be back!
My family (of five in total) stayed in one of the garden lodges over Easter. The lodge accommodation was of an excellent standard, clean, and very well fitted out for a family stay; i.e. washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher etc. We were very easily able to use the facilities in the hotel, and enjoyed a superb Afternoon Tea and Breakfasts during our stay - the food was excellent. The golf club provided a reasonably priced alternative for an evening meal, especially with very young children. It was the small extra details that made the difference to the stay. The small herd of deer captivated the children, rackets and balls from reception (free of charge) made using the tennis courts easy and the driving range was a similar story.
Nothing. Will definitely come again.
We stayed at the lodges at Waterford Castle & it was amazing ! The friendliness of the hotel staff was second to none. Everyone was really helpful which was a relief as I had spoken to a receptionist before our arrival & she didnt seem that helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Waterford Castle or the lodges to anyone & it was great value for the money we paid. I am a fan & will be promoting the Castle Resort.
There wasnt anything to complain about but I would suggest an information pack for the facilities offered i.e tennis rackets are offered free but we didnt know until the last few days also golf balls are only 2 Euros for 50 which can be used on the drive range but again we didnt know until the last few days.
We had a wonderful weekend in your lodge, tall ships, weather and accommodation first class. Congratulations.
House was lovely. 3 couples staying together. Lots of space. Great view of the Tall Ships leaving on sunday morning!
Only one house key given between six people. Not acceptable as we had to hide key in bushes outside door each time we left as the reception is too far to be dropping off and collecting each time.
Best value to stay in a castle! The food was excellent. My husband enjoyed the golf. We stayed only one night but this castle made our trip!!!!
Nice to have to take the ferry to get onto the island, you really felt you were going somewhere different and a little exclusive. The lodges were very well set out and were fitted with all you could need. No RTE or Irish channels on the satellite meant you really felt you were away from it all, if even only for a few days. Would return, nice safe place for families with kids.
Beauty, charm and relaxation in a romantic island setting.
The location is fantastic and so is the building.
I found the staff very plesant upon arrival. The bar food was very tasty but expensive.
The service at breakfast was very slow. Locking the bedroom door was difficult as the lock was old fashioned
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good location, cosy and warm, clean
Eating a little expensive, menu limited. Shower in room over bath, not very nice.
The friendliness of all the staff , the food, the surroundings, the comfort.
Beautiful setting, one felt a million miles away from a city yet it was just five minutes away. Luxurious, old-world comfort yet not stuffy. Lovely walks and wildlife. I loved the experience of staying in an historical castle.
Beautiful location with lovely riverside and forest walks amid deer and other wildlife.Staff very friendly and professional.Food excellent.Dinner in the main restaurant is slightly high, but well worth it for the experience created by the castle decor, staff service and quality of the food.Another menu is available in the bar. A unique castle experience, added to by it's location and surroundings.
The best part was the breakfast
The TV remote did not work so the TV was effectively not usable
